David Clary, quality editor at the San Diego Union-Tribune, is set to depart after more than two decades.
Clary had joined the Union-Tribune in 2002 as A1 editor. He then took on the post of news editor. In his new role, he will join The New York Times’ print news hub as a senior staff editor.
He also worked as an assistant news editor at The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, and interned at The Post-Standard in Syracuse and The Buffalo News.
Clary has a B.A. in political science and newspaper journalism from Syracuse University.
