WLWT and Hearst Television announced today that two Cincinnati hometown anchor/reporters will see expanded roles in the morning on WLWT News 5 Today. Lacey Roberts, currently anchoring weekends on WLWT News 5 Today, will be joining Steven Albritton, Kelly Rippin, and Randi Rico weekday mornings on WLWT News 5 Today. Tiffany Wilson will join Katie Donovan weekends on WLWT News 5 as morning anchor.

“These additions to WLWT News 5 Today, will greatly increase our ability to cover all the major breaking news stories in Cincinnati and around the world every single morning,” said WLWT News Director Jeff Benscoter. “The fact we are promoting anchors and reporters who truly call Cincinnati their hometown, makes these moves even more impactful for our viewers,” Benscoter added.

Roberts, who was born and raised in Cincinnati, and graduated from Walnut Hills High School as well as Northern Kentucky University, is excited to continue to tell impactful stories about the people in her hometown. “It truly is a blessing for people to want to share their stories with me, welcome me into their homes, and trust me to get it right. As a hometown girl it is truly special to be recognized by my peers in this position,” said Roberts.

For Wilson, it marks a return to covering local news in her hometown, a move that brings her closer to her family after most recently working in San Francisco. “I am absolutely thrilled to join WLWT every Saturday and Sunday! This wonderful opportunity allows me to combine my passion for Cincinnati and storytelling while balancing the early years of my children at home,” said Wilson. Wilson graduated from Ursuline Academy in Blue Ash and Northwestern University.
