Chicago Tribune welcomes back Chase as deputy metro editor

John Chase

John Chase will be rejoining the Chicago Tribune as deputy metro editor with a focus on politics. He previously worked at the Tribune from October 1998 to November 2016.

He begins his new role on Mar. 7.

For the past 5 years, Chase has been with the Better Government Association, where he has recently been working as director of investigations. Before that, he served as deputy director of investigations.

He was also a reporter at the Daily Herald Media Group and has reported and edited for City News Bureau of Chicago.

Chase earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Indiana University Bloomington.
