Chloe Hilles has joined the Chicago Tribune as a reporter for the Lake County News-Sun. Recently, she was a local government reporter at Lee Enterprises’ La Crosse Tribune in Wisconsin.
Hilles also reported on environmental justice effects of coal ash regulated by the Tennessee Valley Authority for The Energy News Network at Northwestern University Medill School.
As an intern at Injustice Watch, she pitched, reported and wrote investigative pieces focused on police, wrongful convictions, and the criminal justice and carceral systems.
Hilles has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Northwestern University.
