Chalkbeat promotes Belsha to senior reporter

Kalyn Belsha

Chalkbeat has tapped Kalyn Belsha to serve as a senior reporter on the national desk.

Recently, from her post as a national education reporter, Belsha covered academic recovery, tutoring efforts, race and racism in schools. She also reported on the education of students with disabilities, multi-lingual learners, and students experiencing homelessness.

She has also worked as an education reporter at The Chicago Reporter, Catalyst Chicago and Tribune Publishing.

Belsha has a bachelor’s degree from Boston College and a master’s degree from Northwestern University.
