The Associated Press has tapped Adam Kealoha Causey to serve as assistant news director for Texas and Oklahoma, where he will oversee video, photo and text coverage.
Causey joined the AP in 2015 as a desk editor. He then served as an administrative correspondent, where he oversaw news coverage in Oklahoma, focusing on distinctive storytelling and investigations in multiple formats.
Previously, he worked as a general assignment reporter and assistant city editor at the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He also reported for and was the enterprise team lead at The Florida Times Union.
He also served at The Times, part of the USA Today Network. He interned at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Chicago Tribune Media Group.
A member of Asian American Journalists Association and NLGJA: The Association of LGBTQ Journalists, Causey has a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Louisiana State University.
