Kathryn Casteel has taken on a hybrid role of reporter/coach at two Gannett-owned papers in South Carolina, the Greenville News and Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
Recently, Casteel was a reporter and editor at The Greenville News Media Group. She also freelanced.
Casteel was a growth and development reporter at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal and was an investigative reporter at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Previously, she worked at ESPN as a policy writer for FiveThirtyEight, where she also interned.
She also interned at Crain’s New York business.
Casteel has a B.A. from the University of South Carolina Upstate and a M.A. from Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
