BuzzFeed News opinion editor Gara departs

Tom Gara

Tom Gara, former business editor and current opinion editor at BuzzFeed News, was let go from the company.

He tweets:

Before joining BuzzFeed, Gara was editor, corporate intelligence at The Wall Street Journal where he edited and wrote for the publication’s business section. He also served as gulf news editor for the Financial Times.

Gara has also worked as a reporter for FT Tilt and as a senior reporter at The National covering tech and telecommunications, with focus on internet startups of the Arab world.

In addition, he also served as associate editor and president at Egypt Today/Business Egypt Today and AIESEC Egypt, respectively.

Gara graduated from University of Adelaide with a degree in commerce, marketing and management.
