Burke departs The Athletic for new opportunity

Elias Burke

Elias Burke, West Brom reporter at The Athletic, has left. His tweet reads:

“Keep following The Athletic; I’m sure we’ll continue to do great work covering Albion. There’ll be an announcement on my next challenge very soon — I hope you’ll forgive me when you find out what it is!”

Burke joined The Athletic in October 2021 as a Derby County reporter. Before that, he was a football trends writer at the Manchester Evening News.

He was a sports journalist for Reach plc titles the Daily Star Sport and Mirror Football.

Burke graduated from the University of Liverpool.
