The New York Times has tapped Patia Braithwaite as a senior staff editor for Well. She starts on June 27.
Braithwaite joins from Well+Good, where as a health director she oversaw coverage of the pandemic, heart health and maternal health. She formerly covered the intersection of health and culture as a senior health editor at SELF magazine.
She was also a health editor at Refinery29. Her work has appeared in Bloomberg Businessweek, Vice, Allure and The Washington Post.
Braithwaite has a B.A. in journalism from Hofstra University and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Long Island University.
