Veteran journalist and managing editor at The Boston Herald Jules Crittenden has left his role at the company on Thursday, reports the publication.
Crittenden had been with the Herald for the last 27 years.
“I wish nothing but the best for the Boston Herald as it goes forward in these difficult times, and I have full confidence in those who will do the job,” Crittenden said. “I am glad we still have a voice in Massachusetts that challenges the status quo.”
Crittenden joined the Herald from the Lowell Sun and spent 12 years as a reporter covering science, military affairs, foreign policy, security issues, business, crime and other topics. He was then promoted to city editor, and worked his way up to his current post of managing editor.
As per now, Crittenden declined to comment on who will take his place. Herald publisher Kevin Corrado also did not respond to an email for comment.
