Jennifer Peñate has started a new job as weekend evening co-anchor and reporter at WCVB.
The award-winning journalist made her way to the Boston ABC affiliate from WFLA/WTTA in Tampa Bay, where she was a weeknight anchor for the station’s 8 pm English-language newscasts since 2020.
She also helped launch and anchored the Spanish-language newscast Noticias Tampa Hoy in 2021.
Peñate previously spent three years as an anchor at KNWA-TV and Fox 24 News in Fayetteville, AR. She started her career as an MMJ, getting promoted to evening anchor at KODE 12, in Joplin, MO, where she worked from 2011 to 2017.
Originally from El Salvador, Peñate grew up in Los Angeles and northwest Arkansas.
