IndieWire has promoted Christian Blauvelt to executive managing editor top-editing news, overseeing planning of content, and coordinating the site’s staffing, operations and budgeting.
Blauvelt, who joined IndieWire as a managing editor in 2018, is based in the Tampa Bay Area and reports to editor-in-chief Dana Harris-Bridson.
He has also worked as a deputy culture editor at BBC.com and has held the posts of writer/research editor and editor for interactive content at Entertainment Weekly.
He is also the author of two books on film history, in collaboration with Turner Classic Movies.
Blauvelt graduated from Northwestern University.
