Recently, Schafer was at KLBK-TV Ch. 13, a CBS affiliate in Lubbock, Texas, where she served as a weekend sports reporter/anchor, and recently as a sports director. She also worked as a sideline reporter at ESPN+.
She was also a weekend sports anchor/reporter at WVUA-TV Ch. 23, a low-power TV station in Alabama, and a sideline reporter at ESPN.
Schafer has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Alabama.
