The Detroit News has hired Kara Berg to cover Wayne County courts. She begins Aug. 8.
Recently, Berg was a public safety enterprise reporter at the Lansing State Journal, where she was also a breaking news reporter. Previously, she served with the Belleville News-Democrat in Illinois and was a Pulliam fellow at The Indianapolis Star.
Berg graduated from Ball State University.
