Maria Giovanna Zaccaro has joined the BBC’s investigations unit as a senior journalist working across online, social, TV and radio.
Zaccaro has also worked with the broadcaster’s Executive Committee to assess and develop ideas that could help reinvent the BBC for a new generation of listeners, viewers and users.
She joined in April 2019 as a local democracy reporter.
She held the posts of health correspondent, trainee reporter and Eastleigh correspondent at the Daily Echo, a newspaper serving Southampton and Hampshire.
Zaccaro worked at the BBC from June 2016 to October 2016 as part of a work placement, holding the posts of reporter and story producer.
Zaccaro has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Università degli Studi di Siena in Italy.
