BBC News has tapped Kyla Herrmannsen to serve as its West Africa producer. She will be based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Herrmannsen joined BBC News in February 2020 as a senior journalist and field producer.
During her work with the broadcaster, she has been deployed to various regions, including Lagos, Nairobi and the Cabo Delgado region of Mozambique and Darfur in Sudan.
Herrmannsen has a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes University in South Africa and a master’s degree from King’s College London. She also has a postgraduate degree from the University of Johannesburg.
