Thomas Barton has joined The Gazette in Cedar Rapids, Iowa as deputy bureau chief to cover politics and government in Eastern Iowa.
Previously, he has worked for newspapers covering local and state government and politics in Iowa and South Carolina, including the Quad City Times in Davenport, Iowa; The Telegraph Herald in Dubuque, Iowa; The State Newspaper; and The Island Packet.
Barton has a B.A. in journalism from Iowa State University.
