Baltimore’s CBS TV station names Black VP, news director

Tanya Black

Baltimore-based CBS TV station WJZ-TV Ch. 13 has appointed Tanya Black to the post of VP and news director. She has been with the TV station for more than 23 years.

Black joined in December 1999 as a managing editor, responsible for the station’s news content, breaking news and special programming. She also managed news crews and daily logistics.

Later, she took on the post of director of community impact.

An Emmy award-winning news manager, Black graduated from the University of Maryland.
