Galen Bacharier will join the Des Moines Register, part of the Gannett | USA today Network, as a politics reporter. He begins April 10.
Recently, Bacharier was a reporter at the Springfield News-Leader, also part of the Gannett | USA Today Network, where he covered Missouri politics and government.
Previously, he was a research assistant at Investigative Reporters and Editors.
He also worked as a state government reporter, enterprise reporter, higher education reporter and assistant city editor at Columbia Missourian.
Bacharier graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
