Austin, Texas ABC station hires Sattiewhite as news director

KVUE-TV Ch. 24, an ABC affiliate in Austin, Texas, has hired Travis Sattiewhite as a news director. Since January 2022, he has served as an assistant news director at New Britain, Conn. NBC TV station WVIT-TV Ch. 30.

Previously, Sattiewhite worked as a senior manager for broadcast content at two E.W. Scripps Company TV stations.

He worked at CNN for seven years, where he held the posts of assignment coordinator, news editor, national desk assignment editor, news editor for the 2016 political desk and national desk news editor for the affiliate content centre.

He also served as a weekend assignment editor, nightside assignment editor and producer, senior assignment editor and newscast producer at KIAH-TV Ch. 39, a TV station in Houston that airs programming from The CW.

Sattiewhite has a bachelor’s degree from Texas Southern University and an MBA from Baylor University in Texas.
