Associated Press names Mesquita news director for Cuba and the Caribbean

The Associated Press has appointed Cristiana Mesquita news director for Cuba and the Caribbean. She will be based in the Havana, Cuba, bureau.

Mesquita has covered every major event in Latin America over the past 2 decades. Recently, she served as a video producer at the Associated Press. Previously, she also held the post of regional editor for Latin America.

She has also worked as a freelance video producer and editor.
