Dave Perozek, metro editor at the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, has been appointed managing editor. Commenting on his new role, he said:
“The past two and a half years I’ve spent as metro editor have been among the most challenging and rewarding of my career. I feel I have accumulated enough knowledge and leadership skills under the mentorship of Lisa Thompson to take the next step.
“I am extremely proud of the work we as journalists do here and want to do all I can to ensure that work continues, while striving to serve our readers the best we can.”
Before this, Perozek held the post of education reporter.
Previously, he worked at the Democrat-Gazette from September 2008 to November 2009 as editorial page editor for the Benton County Daily Record. After leaving, he joined Arkansas publisher NWA Media, where he held the posts of assistant editorial page editor and editorial page editor.
He also held the posts of reporter, opinion page editor and features/entertainment editor at The Chronicle-Telegram in Ohio.
Perozek graduated from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee.
