The Associated Press has appointed Roger Schneider to the post of assistant news director for the Great Lakes. He has been a news editor at the AP since 2015.
Schneider has worked in Milwaukee, Detroit and Chicago. He developed and assigned stories, planned coverage, recruited and trained staff, handled breaking news and promoted coverage on social media.
Previously, he worked at two Gannett papers, the Green Bay Press-Gazette and Asbury Park Press ,for more than 16 years.
Schneider has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
