The Associated Press has appointed veteran AP journalist Zeina Karam as deputy news director for Europe to focus on elevating AP’s coverage of major stories.
Karam joined the AP in 1996 and has covered Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and the Middle East.
She was appointed Beirut bureau chief in 2014. She also reported from Egypt, Algeria, Sudan, Oman and UAE.
Karam graduated from American University of Beirut.
