The Associated Press has appointed Amy Forliti to the post of assistant news director – Midwest. She has been with the Associated Press for 24 years.
In her new role, Forliti will lead a team of text reporters, photographers and videojournalists in AP’s seven-state Midwest region.
Forliti joined as a news reporter, and later served as a supervisory correspondent, news reporter/video hybrid, and recently as acting news editor – Upper Midwest. Prior to the AP, she was a copy editor at the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Forliti graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
