The Pulitzer Center has hired Jessica Aldred as ocean editor. She is based in London.
Recently, Aldred was a special projects editor at the nonprofit organization China Dialogue Trust, where she led editorial on environmental themes, including the ocean, biodiversity, climate and deforestation.
She was a planning producer at ITN and previously worked at Guardian News & Media for more than 16 years. There, she held the posts of sports sub-editor and reporter, deputy editor for societyguardian.co.uk and educationguardian.co.uk, freelance writer and deputy editor/production editor for the environment.
She also served as sub-editor/writer for sports at The Times and The Independent.
Aldred graduated from RMIT University in Australia.
