Ashley Remkus, investigative reporter at AL.com, has taken over the role of local investigative editor. In her new role, she will lead a team that will dive into the problems facing people in Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile, Ala.
Remkus joined in 2016 as a public safety reporter and then served as a Snapchat partner.
Remkus was a staff writer at Alabama-based daily newspaper The Decatur Daily, where she also interned.
Remkus graduated from the University of North Alabama, where she wrote and edited for the student news site.
