ABC’s Corn appointed president of news at NewsNation

Nexstar Media Inc. has named Michael Corn president of news for NewsNation.

In his new role, Corn will oversee the long-term strategy and daily operations of NewsNation’s current news programming and any future content expansion.

Corn will be reporting to Sean Compton, president of Nexstar Media Inc.’s Networks Division.

For more than 6 years, Corn has held the post of senior executive producer, “Good Morning America” at ABC News. He has also served as a senior producer and as an executive producer of “World News with Diane Sawyer.”

During his tenure, “World News” won some of the most prestigious awards in journalism, including the 2014 Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in Television, and the 2013 Edward R. Murrow Award for “Best Newscast” for breaking news coverage.

Corn graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English.
