Washington Post taps Hennessy-Fiske as Texas correspondent

Molly Hennessy-Fiske will join The Washington Post as a Texas correspondent “with the mission of mapping the culture, public policies and politics in a region shaped by conservative ideology.”

Hennessy-Fiske begins on Aug. 15.

Recently, Hennessy-Fiske was at the Los Angeles Times, where she served as Houston bureau chief since 2011. She was also Middle East bureau chief and has covered the national economy, breaking news on the Hill, county government and the medical beat for the Times.

She was a projects reporter at the Post-Standard in Syracuse, New York, a reporter and staff writer at the News & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a reporter at the Palm Beach Post.

She interned at the Miami Herald and the Boston Globe.

Hennessy-Fiske has a B.A. in social studies from Harvard University.
