Elyse Samuels, interim senior producer of visual forensics has been appointed senior producer of visual forensics at The Washington Post. As per the Post:
“In this role, Elyse will partner with executive producer Nadine Ajaka to lead our newly expanded team of open-source video and graphics reporters. Elyse brings to the role a keen ability to understand how visuals can help answer questions about today’s most urgent stories.”
Samuels is a founding member of the visual forensics team. She joined the Video department in 2016 as a Facebook Live producer, and then switched t0 the breaking news team as a video verification editor.
She won a Webby Award for developing the Post’s Guide to Manipulated Video.
Samuels interned at USA Today and NBC News.
Samuels holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
