Washington Post appoints Johnson deputy democracy editor

Jenna Johnson

Jenna Johnson has been named deputy democracy editor at The Washington Post. She will play a key role in managing reporters in Washington and around the country who will chronicle the impact of new voting laws and related matters.

Johnson has been with the Post for nearly 15 years, working on several desks. She has also edited on the America, health and science, and politics desks. She started on the local desk in 2007 as an intern.

For several years, Johnson reported on higher education and youth culture, anchoring a blog. She has also reported from the Syrian border for the Post.
