Tanner joins the NY Times as accessibility visuals editor

The New York Times has hired Jaime Tanner as visual accessibility editor.

The announcement reads,

Jaime will help boost accessibility best practices by working directly with editors in graphics, digital news design and interactive news. She’ll guide us toward many possible solutions that make our interactive projects accessible and engaging for readers with a variety of disabilities — growing the audience for our journalism.

Jaime’s previous experience includes working as a developer at the Center for Data Arts and as a data analyst and visualization specialist at the Institute of International Education. More recently she’s been responsible for building accessible user interfaces for data products and applications at Visa.”

Tanner holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham and a master’s degree from Parsons School of Design.
