Portland Tribune works to save local journalism

With 2020 just around the corner, the publication industry is faced with the fact that advertising revenue alone cannot cover the cost of gathering, editing and distributing local news.

In lieu of these circumstances, the Portland Tribune is requesting its readers to financially contribute to balance the local newspaper’s costs. That extra revenue will offset the dip in advertising dollars allowing the local to continue to provide news.

Readers can visit savinglocalnews.com where there are different options for how readers can receive local news or buy a gift subscription for a neighbor, co-worker, family member or friend.

Starting at just $79 per year, readers can access the hundreds of articles produced by the Portland Tribune reporters.
