Ben Hubbard, Beirut bureau chief at The New York Times has been appointed Istanbul bureau chief, leading coverage in Turkey.
Hubbard is a veteran on the International desk, having previously reported from Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Yemen, to name a few. Prior to joining the Times, he was at The Associated Press, leading a team of reporters who were finalists for a Pulitzer Prize for their Syria coverage.
Hubbard will move to Istanbul later this summer.
