Manuela Andreoni has joined The New York Times as a writer for the Climate Forward newsletter.
In her new role, she will be working with Somini Sengupta, who hosts the signature New York Times climate newsletter.
Andreoni had been a stringer at the Times’ Brazil bureau, covering deforestation in the Amazon. Last year, she became a Times’ fellow at the Rainforest Investigations Network, a project designed by the Pulitzer Center to encourage collaborative investigative reporting.
Her work has also appeared in the New Yorker magazine, the Los Angeles Times, BBC Panorama, The Globe and Mail, Univision and others.
“As a newsletter writer, I am looking forward to inviting readers into climate conversations happening across the world,” Manuela said. “My goal will be to help guide them as they connect the dots between both the fascinating and terrifying stories emerging from our climate crisis.”
