NY Times promotes Apuzzo to international investigations editor

The New York Times has named Matt Apuzzo international investigations editor, leading an overseas investigative team.

He will also be working with other editors on the desk on projects involving other correspondents. He begins his new role in May.

Apuzzo joined the Times in 2014 to cover the Justice department. Recently, he was working as a reporter based in Brussels.

Prior to the Times, Apuzzo was with The Associated Press, where he has spent more than a decade covering law enforcement and national security.

Apuzzo is a former board member of Investigative Reporters and Editors and teaches journalism at Georgetown University.
