NY Times names Morris Sunday editor in Washington

Teshia Morris

The New York Times has promoted Teshia Morris to the post of Sunday editor in Washington.

Morris joined The Times in 2011 and spent her first six years on the Metro copy desk. From there she joined the short-lived Live copy desk and then the Print Hub.

She has also served as deputy weekend editor and as a night editor.

Her new role begins Jun. 6.

Prior to The Times, Morris was a copy editor at The News Journal and has also worked as a sports copy editor at The Washington Times and The Baltimore Sun.

She also served as a sports/metro copy editor at the Philadelphia Inquirer after interning there.

She also worked at The Sunflower for more than three years holding various posts, including that of editor, entertainment editor, copy chief, copy editor and reporter.

Additionally, Morris has also interned at The Dallas Morning News, The Plain Dealer and Community Voice.

Morris is a B.A. in communication from Wichita State University.
