The New York Times has hired Matthew Mpoke Bigg as a live correspondent, based in London and Victoria Kim as a live correspondent, based in Seoul.
Bigg was recently working as regional editor, Europe, at UNHCR, the U.N. Refugee Agency. Previously, he was at Reuters, where he held various roles, including specialist desk editor, senior correspondent for West Africa, bureau chief for Atlanta and then Indonesia, senior desk editor, and correspondent for East Africa.
Kim joins from the Los Angeles Times, where she recently served as a Seoul correspondent. Before that, she has worked as a civil courts reporter, federal courts and agencies reporter, and features writer/investigative reporter.
