NBC News Digital has hired Lewis Kamb as a national FOIA reporter. Kamb will join the enterprise team on Sept. 12.
NBC News digital managing editor Tom Namako said that Kamb “will pursue news-driven scoops and long-term investigative projects based on public records. He’ll work across the newsroom, running training sessions and coaching reporters on how to file FOIA requests. And he’ll work closely with our legal department to shake records loose, from crafting appeals to suing when necessary”
Kamb, who will remain in Seattle, was recently at Axios, where he broke news on Amazon.com and in other beats. He was a longtime watchdog reporter at the Seattle Times.
There he was also part of teams that won a Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 2020 and George Polk and Gerald Loeb awards.
You can congratulate Kamb on Twitter.
