Politico has hired Jordain Carney as a congressional reporter. She begins on May 17. Carney joins Politico from The Hill, where she worked as a U.S. Senate reporter.
Prior to that, Carney was at the National Journal as a staff writer for Hotline, the Journal’s political newsletter.
There, she also covered Congress and political races, and contributed health, economy, congressional, and political news for the Need-to-Know Memo, the Journal’s morning newsletter for subscribers.
Previously, Carney served as a defense reporter at the Journal. She has also worked at The Arkansas Traveler and has reported for Scripps Howard Foundation Wire and the Society of Professional Journalists.
Carney has a B.A. from the University of Arkansas.
