BuzzFeed News has tapped Karolina Waclawiak as editor in chief, making her the first woman to hold the post for the news organization.
Waclawiak brings more than 14 years of editorial experience to the newsroom. Recently, she served as executive editor, culture and director of news development for BuzzFeed Studios. She also has experience in studio development, having worked across the company on Hollywood studio projects, including two recent documentaries.
In her new role, she will continue to work with BuzzFeed Studios to create journalism in Hollywood.
Her work has won prestigious journalism awards, including multiple National Magazine Awards.
Waclawiak has a B.F.A. from USC School of Cinematic Arts and a M.F.A. from Columbia University School of the Arts.
