Colin McMahon has been appointed chief operating officer at StartupNation, where he will oversee the daily functions and supervise the editorial and product teams while also working with sales and marketing.
Recently, McMahon worked as an independent consultant with publishers, newsrooms and startups to develop audiences and build businesses.
He was editor in chief and chief content officer at Chicago Tribune Media Group and Tribune Publishing. He previously served as senior VP of editorial operations at Tribune Publishing and was an associate editor at the Chicago Tribune.
McMahon held various other editorial posts at the Chicago Tribune, including serving as foreign correspondent and local news reporter.
McMahon graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University.
