CNBC senior vice president Dan Colarusso sent out the following on Tuesday:
After 35 years, Bob Pisani has expressed his desire to step away from his day-to-day responsibilities as Senior Markets Correspondent at CNBC. His last day on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange will be May 9th.
While we’ll certainly miss seeing him in his usual role, I am glad to share this isn’t a goodbye – Bob intends to return to CNBC later this year as a significant contributor for our growing direct-to-consumer business, where his expertise, analysis and unique voice will continue to inform and engage our loyal CNBC Pro subscribers.
Bob has been more than just a colleague over the last three decades – he’s been a constant presence, a trusted voice and a defining figure in our coverage. He has been a mainstay on CNBC and a true Wall Street institution, bringing passion, sharp analysis and a deep understanding of the markets that have earned him the respect of his peers and viewers alike.
Bob has covered the ups and downs of the markets from the dot-com bubble of the 1990s to 9/11 to the Great Financial Crisis and through Covid. He has also provided in-depth coverage of the IPO market, ETFs, and the SEC, both on-air and through his Trader Talk blog. Whether he is writing about the storied history of the New York Stock Exchange or holding court with its legends at Harry’s or Delmonico’s, Bob has made a lasting impact on our team and our audience.
Please join me in extending our heartfelt gratitude to Bob for his remarkable contributions and wishing him all the best in this exciting new chapter.
Dan
