Tess Vigeland, host and senior producer of “As We Work,” a weekly podcast on careers and work lives by The Wall Street Journal, will leave.

Vigeland’s LinkedIn post reads:

“I’ll be departing The Wall Street Journal, but have agreed to stay on through Labor Day (apropos of hosting a show about… labor). I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to launch a brand new podcast and bring a slew of diverse, intelligent and empathetic guests to our audience.

“While I consider the next step on my own career path, I’ll be returning to the best boss I ever had at Tess Vigeland Productions (!), where I worked for nearly a decade before joining WSJ.”

She worked as a podcast host on a contractual basis for “Pandemic Economics,” which analyzed the global economic repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic for the University of Chicago’s Becker Friedman Institute for Economics.

She helped edit and produce “California State of Mind,” a joint production of CapRadio Sacramento and Cal Matters. She was also a podcast host at Gimlet Media and formerly worked at NPR and “Marketplace.”

Vigeland graduated from Northwestern University.
