WSJ redesignWall Street Journal editor Gerard Baker sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:

I’m delighted to announce that Rajiv Pant will be joining us in the new role of Chief Product and Technology Officer for The Wall Street Journal.

Rajiv has a stellar record in driving technological innovation at some of the biggest news organizations in the world.

He joins us from Thrive Global where he played a lead role in successfully launching the new health care and well-being venture in record time. Previously, as CTO at The New York Times, Rajiv led the successful development and delivery of dozens of acclaimed mobile and web products over 4 years. Before that, he headed up digital technology at Conde Nast for 4 years, where he managed multiple fast-paced, growing teams including Reddit. Rajiv is a skilled software writer and technologist who has managed large teams and has a record of productive collaboration with reporters and editors and other key news staff. He has received several prestigious awards during his career including being honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014.

Rajiv will be the first CTO at The Wall Street Journal to work directly for the Newsroom and in the Newsroom. I am delighted to have Rajiv join my senior management team.
