Brendan Vaughan has been hired as editor in chief of Fast Company magazine.
Vaughan will start July 18.
He replaces Stephanie Mehta, who became CEO and chief content officer of its parent company Mansueto Ventures.
Vaughan has been a deputy editor at Insider since January, overseeing a desk dedicated to longform journalism and news analysis.
He previously was a senior editor at The Atlantic, editor in chief of GEN at Medium, executive editor of book publisher Ballantine Bantam Dell, executive editor of GQ magazine, and articles editor at Esquire magazine.
Vaughan holds a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.
