U.S. biz media outlet looking to start British online news service

March 12, 2008

A London-based executive search firm is looking to hire a managing editor to help launch the British daily online news service of a U.S.-based financial publication, according to an ad placed on the Guardian’s web site.

The ad states, “This will be a premium subscription based service, providing critical information on the asset management and mutual fund industry.

“The managing editor should be a durable, business savvy individual, capable of leading a team of reporters and analysts, tasked with providing essential information on the European fund industry.

“Reporting to the Executive Editor based in the U.S in a rapidly expanding organisation, this is a unique opportunity to lead a start-up publication, backed by one of the biggest names in the industry.

“The editor will have overall responsibility for the direction of the publication, including the structure of sectors reported on, story selection and deadlines, performance reviews, in addition to ensuring that all copy adheres to company style and quality standards.”
