Two biz ethics magazines merging

July 27, 2006

Business Ethics magazine and The CRO Magazine, which targets corporate responsibility officers at businesses, are merging, beginning with the fall issue of Business Ethics, according to a press release.

Business EthicsMichael Connor, publisher and editor of Business Ethics, will become publisher and editor of CRO Magazine and chairman of its conference series. He’ll be joined by Jay Whitehead, a veteran of the magazine and conferencing businesses, who will serve as CEO of the new venture.

Founded in 1987, Business Ethics magazine has been the only U.S.-based business magazine focusing on ethics and corporate social responsibility in a media landscape otherwise dominated by traditional business publications. The magazine has been published four times a year with a total distribution to approximately 10,000 readers.

Connor purchased Business Ethics in November 2004 and has since served as publisher and executive editor. He also hosts a weekly one-hour radio program, Good Company, on Lime/Sirius Satellite Radio. Connor began his career as a journalist, first as a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal, and later as a correspondent and senior producer for ABC News. He also held executive positions at Dow Jones & Co., where he led global development of the company’s TV and multimedia operations.
