Peston named Business Journalist of the Year

Robert Peston, the business editor of the BBC in London, received the Business Journalist of the Year award at an international competition. Peter Elkind of Fortune won the award in 2007.

Bloomberg News received three awards in the competition. David Evans of Bloomberg received the award as Best Finance & Markets Journalist, while David Dietz and Darrell Perston received the award in the Best Online/Wire Service category. Michael Smith and Carlos Caminda of Bloomberg Markets receieved the award for Best Magazine Story.

Victoria Knight of Dow Jones Newswires received the award for best Personal Finance Journalist, while Mike Esterl and David Crawford received the award for Best Corporate coverage.

The Business Journalist of the Year Awards are organized by The World Leadership Forum. They are the only awards for business writers that are open to journalists of all nationalities, and the only awards to cover the entire spectrum of business and financial reporting.
